What is massage therapy?

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments, to help optimize a client's health and well-being.


Do I need a referral to receive massage therapy?

No, you do not need a referral to receive a massage therapy treatment; however, some insurance companies do require a doctor's referral for massage therapy treatments in order to provide coverage.

Make sure to contact your insurance company if you are unsure whether a doctor's referral is required for coverage.


Can I talk during my massage?

Yes, of course! Feel free to talk throughout your massage therapy treatment, if it is what makes you feel most comfortable and relaxed. If you have questions or concerns before, during or after your treatment, never hesitate to ask.


How do I pay for my massage therapy appointment?

There are plenty of ways to pay for your massage therapy appointment! With the technology of Square, I am able to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express. I am also able to accept INTERAC Flash, Apple Pay, Google Pay and contactless-enabled cards for transactions up to $100.00 CAD. If none of these options work for you, I will also accept cash.


Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! Absolutely! I have a dollar amount option, as well as a service option. Dollar amounts can be purchased online through my Square store, while service options are available through my website and will be mailed out upon ordering.

What is mobile massage therapy?

Mobile massage therapy means that your massage therapy appointment is brought to you. This allows you to feel comfortable and safe throughout your massage therapy treatment. Plus, you get to avoid the stress of driving home after!


Do I have to completely undress for my massage?

No, it is never a requirement to completely undress for a massage. Undressing to your comfort level is what I will suggest, meaning if you want to keep any articles of clothes on for whatever reason, please do so. Your comfort is important.


Do you offer direct billing?

No, I do not offer direct billing at this time. However, a receipt will be provided via email with all of the information that insurance companies request when submitting a claim.


Am I required to tip?

It is not necessary to tip following a massage therapy treatment.




All massage therapy treatments provided by Lisa Loos Massage Therapy are covered by extended health insurance plans.
